Spring has Sprung~ Bird Nest Snacks

With Spring in the air I wanted to do something a little special and fun with my two nieces Ellery & Mallie Kate. Here is a really fun and simple treat that both you and the kids can enjoy!

Aren't they just the cutest and the best part is they are quick and easy to whip up!

       Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Chinese Noddles
- 1 Cups Rice Crispies Cereal
- 1 Cup Mini Marshmellows
- 1 Pkg. Butter Scotch Chips
- Peeps
- Robin Eggs or any other egg shape candy
- Wax paper

Directions:

Step 1
Pour the butterscotch chips in a microwave safe bowl and melt according to the directions on the packaging- Mix until smooth.
I set mine for two minuets stopping half way and giving a quick stir.

Step 2:
Mix in the Chinese noodles - 2 cups

Step three:

Add in 1 cup rice crispies.
Make sure they snap, crackle & pop!!!

Lawson says Mmmm yummy!

Thats some good mixing!!!
Step 4
Next add in the marsh mellows - 1cup.

Then gently stir the mixture together making sure to get every thing covered in that yummy butterscotch.

Even Lawson had fun mixing!

Heres what ours looked like

 Step 5:
Drop a large spoonful of the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper.  Try to mash down the middle and build up the sides to look like a nest. I use the bottom of my spoon to help mash out the middle.

Step 6

Time to decorate
The girls used pink peeps!

"Heres the eggs Mommy"

Add a little peep to each of the nest and add a few eggs. Lay the nest over to the side for a few minutes to allow the butterscotch to harden. In the mean time you can wash the dishes and get all cleaned up... Times up the nest are now ready! ENJOY :))

and there you have it!

Aren't they precious??? We decide to make a mommy and daddy bird nest!

Hope you enjoy your birds nest!
Love Lawson

Hey, great recipe and adorable kids! I remember making these yummy treats when I was a little girl and the site of them takes me right back to my childhood- although we just had blobs- the birds in the nest are brilliant! Now I want to make them with my own children!

Thanks Abi, we had a great time and they were very yummy! :)) They are so easy to make and would make cute Easter gifts for kids or adults.
